The adoption of the Warburton Urban Design Framework has been postponed till the 26th of March, 2024. The reason has been because of the backlash from the community which saw councillors receive over 100 emails in opposition to it.
The Warburton Urban Design Framework plans to fill Warburton with car parks, demolish the Warburton tennis courts for a through road, commandeers the historic tennis club house for a commercial venture, encourages investors to build three story commercial buildings to overlook the Yarra River behind our shops, demolishes the Football and Netball Clubhouses to build a single shared clubhouse for all sports, etc.
Getting ready for the influx of tourists that will happen with the Warburton Mountain Bike Destination (and to cope with the already excessive tourism that Warburton suffers).
